This is a compensated campaign in collaboration with Kohl’s and Latina Bloggers Connect.
I spent my morning at Kohl’s shopping for boys Easter basket essentials. Celebrating las Pascuas is the highlight of the spring season for my family. We have an entire weekend of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus and enjoy a weekend of feasts with our family and friends. Kohl’s is a one-stop shopping experience where I can dress my entire family in the perfect Easter outfits, shop Easter home decor and even fill their Easter baskets all in one place.
Easter baskets can be fun and perfect, if you spend a little time thinking about necessities and what your child really likes. I like to focus on a few necessities and stay away from wasting my money. We start our Easter morning with a basket for our kids waiting for them at the front door. I feel like a pro when it comes to filling their Easter baskets, but this hasn’t always been the case. I have learned not to purchase random toys that will end up in the trash before the day is over. I am also a mom that believes in candy (in moderation of course).
Perfect Little Boys Easter Basket Essentials
Play Wear and Essentials
I start out my shopping trip by thinking about the season and what boys Easter basket essentials my child is in need of. Now that the weather is warming my son could use some comfortable everyday play wear. I headed to the Jumping Beans brand to find mix and match pieces that are easy to wear and inexpensive. The shorts and tops are currently on sale for $7.99 each and my son loves the comfort of the moisture wicking pieces. I also try to replenish socks or underwear when I can. The undies are buy (1) get (1) 50% off, so I went with those this time around. They are great basket fillers and with Star Wars and Avengers themes my son will actually be excited about underwear in his Easter basket.
I headed to Kohl’s without the kids this time around, but if I have my youngest with me he always makes a bee line to the toy section. I usually oblige without too much hesitation, because the prices are that good. I headed over to find something that can go in his basket. I stumbled on a Disney Infinity 3.0 Chewbaca, I believe it is the last of his Star Wars characters he doesn’t have for 3.0 and it was $11.99. One toy is realistic for my son, if I get him more than one toy he will end up playing with none of them.
To round out the basket I found quite a few seasonal Easter goodies throughout Kohl’s. Reese’s chocolate bunny, Peeps, M&M’s bunny and Star Wars Jelly Belly’s all the candy was 60% off and ranged from $2.99 – $5.99. I personally don’t feel guilty filling baskets with candy. Lets be realistic me and daddy will do the raiding of candy once the kids are asleep. I let them have their fair share of course.
Shop the home section for woven baskets that double as Easter baskets. This basket will double as storage in my pantry after Easter. I can reuse year after year and save on buying baskets each year.
For our Easter festivities I also found this 16 piece bubble fun set at 60% off. Checkout the Kohl’s Easter displays for these buckets and other Easter goodies all on sale. This bucket of bubbles is perfect for our Easter outdoor fun to keep the kids entertained throughout the day.
