Make your bucket list a reality not a dream #suntrustbucketlist

I always looked at bucket lists as a cliché. The reality is bucket lists for me seemed unattainable. I am a work-from-home mom to three boys. I also took on the challenge of homeschooling them for the past two years. Homeschooling is not cheap and actually rivals with the cost of private schooling in our area. For my husband and I we have switched gears and put our money into extra-curricular activities for our boys.

It wasn’t until I took a good look at my spending habits using the budget worksheet, did I realize I was spending frivolously on non-tangible items. More coffee shop cappuccino’s than I care to own up to, multiple lunches out each week and a few to many Target splurges every month. my spending was actually the reason my family and bucket list where unattainable.

The budgeting worksheet from SunTrust has helped me monitor how much I am making, spending and saving. I have found the key to gain back some financial breathing room through this plugin worksheet.

Now my dream bucket list truly looks attainable. If I skip those coffee shops, lunches out and Target splurges every month and reward myself with one a month as opposed to multiple a week my bank account will grow by the hundreds. Putting that money away for an entire year will allow my family to reap the rewards of my bucket list dreams.

I have always imagined taking the kids on a week-long excursion to a tropical paradise. I want to surprise my husband with a romantic getaway and I have been dreaming of a photography classes for myself.

My bucket list is now a priority list. I am more than willing to tighten up my spending in order to treat my family to a dreamy vacation. Making these changes in my financial spending will also allow us to build a bucket list as a family and make memories that will last us a lifetime.

I challenge you to join me and plugin your budget in the SunTrust worksheet. Learn what you can give up, in order to cross off that bucket list.

  1. I try to save money and not make my weekly trips to Starbucks every single day. Saving money to fulfill my bucket list is important but so is saving!
