How to find Sponsors Host a Review and Giveaway

So your interested in reviewing products and hosting giveaways.   It’s easier than you think and no you don’t have to have a huge following to get sponsors. I will share with you a few tips to getting reviews and hosting giveaways.

Media Kit

A media kit is perfect for sharing with your potential sponsors your blog numbers, what you charge to have there buttons on your site, etc.

Mom Bloggers Club has a great template HERE.  I basically used this template as a guide and made my own in Microsoft Word.  And don’t worry if you don’t have a huge following.  Be 100% honest with your numbers if a sponsor decides to check for themselves you will ruin your reputation if you pad your numbers.  It is better to be honest.  I add a line in mentioning, how highly I promote my reviews and giveaways and how active I am on forums, etc.  And remember make your Media Kit your own, you do not have to follow it exactly and actually make it about your brand.

Blog Pages

Make it easy for sponsors to connect with you.  Let it be known that you love reviewing and hosting giveaways.  I have a Media Kit /PR page that lets a potential sponsor know that they can contact me and that I have a Media Kit ready to email out.  A Giveaway page lets potential sponsors see what my reviews and giveaways are all about.

Social Networks

If you are not on facebook and twitter do so NOW!  This is how you connect with people.  If you are already networking and are a part of other up and coming sites!  More power to you I am trying to figure out my google + account.

Rafflecopter?

Personally I love rafflecopter, but I do know a few that don’t.  There are kinks, but with anything else it takes time to get anything close to perfect.  This is a great way to keep track of your giveaway entries and you can also get your winner randomly chosen with one click.    If you need an invitation to rafflecopter leave me a comment I may have a few left to give out.  If not be patient it took two weeks to get an invite from them after registering.

If you don’t use rafflecopter you can do the alternative and have comments left on your giveaway post.

Email Message to Sponsors

Have a nice and short message ready to send to potential sponsors! Keep it short or you may loose them. Here is an example of mine that I change up to each potential sponsor.

Hi, My name is {  }.  I am a mom blogger at {    .com}  I ran across your product(s)_________ and would love to review and possibly host a giveaway.

{A sentence or two about you and why you would make a good fit to review this product}.

I have attached my media kit, which includes my current blog information and how I could benefit you.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Please make it your own and don’t copy mine 🙂

Sponsor Sites

Now that you have paved the way to host giveaways, it’s time to find sponsors. Sign up and get busy looking for great sponsors!!   Here are some great places to find products to Review and possibly Giveaways:

Brand Buzz Network

Bloggerdise  {referer:  athriftydiva@yahoo.com}

Giveaway Blogs

Pitch it to Me

Tomoson

Contact Companies

If you have a certain niche your blog is dedicated to.  Find companies that could benefit from your readers and vice versa.  Etsy is a great place to get some great small business’s who love exposure.

Follow Through

Once you have gotten a sponsor get your review done and be thorough, but don’t loose your potential readers.  Read your review as if you were at someone else’s blog.  Would it capture your attention?  Keep to your time frames, etc.  I keep my giveaways open for two weeks unless the sponsor requests otherwise.

Promote Giveaways

Use social networking, forums and anywhere else you can think of to promote your giveaways.

Here are a few sites I use to promote them:

Prizey

Blog Giveaway Directory

Giveaway Promote

Mom Giveaways

If you have any information I have missed, please feel free to comment 🙂
