There is something magical about Princess Disney characters.
You don’t have to be a little girl to appreciate the fairy tale and beauty of these timeless characters. I have three boys and I still find myself sharing these timeless Princess Disney classics with them. From The Princess and the Frog to Pocahontas my children have developed a love for the characters and the Princess’s featured. I have compiled a list of the eleven princess’s that have graced Disney. From the very first beauty Snow White to the most recent Princess Merida.
Princess Disney Characters
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released in 1937. Snow White is the first Princess Disney character and my very favorite.
Cinderella was released in 1950. Her evil stepmother Cruel makes this a dramatic story that captures all.
Sleeping Beauty was released in 1959. Featuring Princess Aurora. The Princess doomed to sleep for 100 years is a great classic I can’t wait to share with my children.
The Little Mermaid was released in 1989. Featuring Princess Ariel. The under the sea adventure is one of our family favorites.
Beauty and the Beast was released in 1991. Featuring Princess Belle. Oh the beast who Belle is not fond of but when the tables turn and he saves her she falls for him.
Aladdin was released in 1992. Featuring Princess Jasmine. Arabian nights and a fun filled cast of characters.
Pocahontas was released in 1995. A Native American Princess full of spirit and seemingly special powers.
Mulan was released in 1998. Featuring the Princess Fa Mulan. Fa Mulan not an actual Princess still holds the role as one. She is loud and clumsy and also very smart.
The Princess and the Frog was released in 2009. Featuring Princess Tiana. The first African-American Princess. Her character is turned into a frog by s witch doctor and is looking for ways to break the spell.
Tangled was released in 2010. Featuring Princess Rapunzel. Rapunzel is kidnapped by Mother Gothel who attempts to use Rapunzels hair for her own gain and to restore her youth.
Brave was released in 2012. Featuring Princess Merida. Merida an archer who accidentally curses her family.

When I was growing up I liked Ariel but since they released Tiana I also like her. My daughter likes them all. Ariel first, then Tangled and the rest after that. Don’t forget about Princess Sofia. She is the newest.
