San Antonio Children’s Museum In Downtown San Antonio

Woodlands Children's Museum

Update: The San Antonio Children’s Museum in downtown San Antonio closed its door in 2015 and reopened June 6 as the DoSeum on 2800 Broadway St.

Don’t let the boring old Tuesday nights get you down.  The San Antonio Children’s Museum is holding FREE KIDS NIGHT the third Tuesday of every month. Enjoy free parking after 5:00 pm and a night at the Children’s Museum.  This is all part of Downtown Tuesday, an initiative to bring locals into downtown with free parking and downtown fun.

Date nights with the husband no longer exist, so we took ourselves plus the three little’s to Kids’ Night Out. Shockingly, I haven’t been to the Children’s Museum since I was a kid. The hands-on activities were the perfect way to cap off a night of wound up kiddos. It is a great place to let your kids be kids, husbands can be kids and moms won’t get tugged because their child is bored. In a nutshell the Children’s Museum is my new hot spot.

kids free childrens museumPlan your visit so that you can catch a science experiment (there are tons of events on the monthly calendar).  We caught a great experiment with a volcanic reaction using household items.

f you haven’t had a chance to take the family, I highly recommend a downtown Tuesday visit.  The Next FREE Kids {and adults} night is October 16th.

Also don’t miss…

Friday September 28th is KidsNight Out 6-9:30pm.  Children 3 and up can enjoy an evening at the Museum for Pizza and a whole lot of FUN.  Parents get a night off, sounds like a blast if you ask me.  For all the details head over here.

3rd Annual Monster Bash!
Sunday, October 28 (Noon – 4:00pm) Spooky Storytime, face painting, costume contest, arts and crafts activities, a balloon artist, and trick-or-treat candy—all in a child-safe environment!
