I love to bake but let’s face it, I am not always in the mood to go the homemade route and I am a huge fan of out-of-the-box baking. These swoon worthy Valentine’s strawberry cupcakes using box mix are enough to call your own. I ran into these adorable cupcake liners and the kids have been begging me to make something sweet. I will go weeks where we have something sweet after dinner and then have absolutely nothing to satisfy our sweet tooth.
I grabbed a few strawberry cupcake necessities to make these swoon worthy Valentine’s strawberry cupcakes using box mix. I’m not brand loyal when it comes to my cake mix and grabbed the least expensive and yummy sounding box I could find. If you aren’t a fan of strawberry cake mix this recipe works with any flavor and you don’t have to stick with vanilla pudding either.

Do not frost the strawberry cupcakes until cooled completely.
The frosting will go quick and with the cupcakes less is more don’t over frost them. They look pretty with the cupcake not completely covered.
Top strawberry cupcakes with sugar sprinkles and slices of strawberries.
My family isn’t usually a fan of strawberry cupcakes but the moistness of these make them A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. You will completely surprise them with how great these strawberry cupcakes come out.
Let me know if you try this Valentine’s strawberry cupcakes using box mix recipe!
Pretty! I need a frosting gun BAD-LY.
Seriously they make such a BIG difference.
They look delicious!! I was going to ask you about the liners – I’ll have to head to Michael’s this week!!
Running to Amazon to look for a frosting gun NOW!
Thanks Sara, I love the Michael’s dollar spot.
Oh YUM. I need to try this recipe! And those are the cutest liners.
Those look like delicious cupcakes! My husband LOVES anything strawberry and he’d be awe struck if I could decorate cupcakes like you have here! Thanks for sharing your recipe and great decorating skills!
You make it look so easy!!! I suck at frosting! Maybe if I didn’t eat as much as I used I’d be ok! lol
These look amazing!
Great blog!!! I was homeschooled as well so love to see more peeps ding that route nowadays!:) Cupcakes look fab, too!
Mmm that looks so good, and I love those little pearls!!
I need these now. lol 🙂 Looks delicious
Yum. I need a frosting gun or frosting lessons. Lexie’s birthday cupcakes were yummy but the frosting job could have been prettier. My favorite strawberry cupcake is to use a white cake mix with a fresh strawberry puree and I just leave out a little bit of the liquid the box calls for since the puree is watery.
Great idea Katie, that is going to be my next batch.
I have never heard of mixing pudding in the mix. That sounds amazing:) I just might have to host a PC party soon too because I think I have to have that frosting gun too! How many cupcakes did this make?
24 cupcakes 🙂
Wow those cupcakes looks so yummy and pretty 🙂
