Tips to Tackle Parenting Messes and Stresses

Purchasing the right diapers is one of those important decisions we must make as parents!  If you have ever dealt with a public diaper blowout or mishap, you can relate to my need for a good diaper that you trust to save the day.  I have tried every diaper brand on the market in order to have the best for my babies.   My husband has dealt with the worst of the worst mishaps.

He once had all three boys with him, at our local hardware store. Realizing the baby had a “loaded” diaper he hurried through the store to make his purchase.  At the checkout the cashier said sir, “you have something green on your arm”.  Unknowingly he had green poop running down the side of his arm.  He was so embarrassed and used his hand to rub it off, pretending it wasn’t a big deal.  Needless to say the diaper got full blame and we are sticking to our trusted Huggies from now on.

Car Survival Kit

Always be prepared for the unknown. We keep a few diapers, small pack of wipes, extra set of clothes for each kiddo, a few random toys, bottle water and crackers.  I change these items out every so often to keep it fresh.

Designated Changing Area

Let’s face it, some places are not readily equipped with a diaper changing station.  I have been in my fair share of restaurants and stores that just don’t accommodate our little ones. Always be prepared with a changing pad or blanky to keep your baby away from those germy areas.  Get creative and turn your backseat, dressing room or even a hallway into a changing station.

Wet Bag

Keep a wet bag or large baggie handy.  I keep one in the diaper bag for all those messy, wet, sticky baby items that need to get cleaned at home.

The Bullseye

Because I am the proud mama to three boys, I have had my fair share of sprays during diaper changes.  Keep a small washcloth and always lay it over baby as soon as you remove the used diaper.  While wiping baby make sure you are not in the bullseye (especially if you are out in public).  If your little one is anything like mine they will find the perfect time to give momma a spray.

Bottom line keep calm and go with the flow 🙂  Find comfort in knowing every parent has been there and can relate to all those parenting challenges.
