What to do with all this perfectly good Halloween Candy?

My kids had an amazing Halloween.  They didn’t want to stop trick-or-treating so we trekked on through the neighborhood house after house for over an hour.  Now we sit at home with two buckets full of candy that my boys have not much interest in {they are so not like their mother}.  I could eat this stuff until my belly hurts, but to save myself from the bulge I have restrained the urge   a lot  a little.

What to do with all this perfectly good, wrapped candy?

  • If you don’t know what to do with all that left over Halloween Candy, send it to Operation Shoebox!  Candy is sent  to  troops!

Halloween Pumpkin Poop with Snikiddy Cheese Puffs

With all the candy my kids will get this Halloween, I decided to skip the candy bags this year.   The goal a healthy treat for them to hand out to their friends.  I have finally found Snikiddy at HEB, it’s in the bread aisle.  Go figure, I searched up and down the chip aisle multiple times before I inadvertently found these.  They are delicious with a bountiful amount of cheese that isn’t over bearing.  Light,  airy and not greasy we love these at snack time.

What you need:

Card Stock

Snikiddy grilled cheese puffs

snack size baggies

tape

printer ink ;)

I am a huge fan of picmonkey, and the Halloween tab is AMAZING.  I would pay for this site, if it wasn’t free {but I love free so double bonus}.   Playing around in the Halloween tab I came up with the “Halloween Poop” label in a few minutes.  Set the size to 600X200 and save as a .jpg on your computr. When you print set 4 to a page for a perfect fit for snack size baggies.

Check out Snikkidy online and find a location near you that carries them.

Party City Halloween for Less

Are you ready for Halloween?  Costumes are by far our favorite part of  Halloween.  I usually pick my boys brains for their ideas of what they want to be.  But in my mind I know that I want quality costumes that we can use again and again for pretend play or to pass on to the next year.

According to the National Retail Federation, the average person spends $72 on Halloween planning.

For my family of five that makes for an expensive Halloween.  Party City has exceptional costumes by Costume USA with all the extras without the extra cost.  Party City outfitted my family of five  with Costume USA costumes as well as mass marketed competitor costumes to see what we think about the difference.  The pictures do tell a lot of the comparisons check out our family picks.

Last Minute fast and simple Halloween treats

Happy Halloween Peeps.  Here are a few last minute Halloween musts to satisfy those tummies.  I’m thinking right when the kids get home we can have an early dinner/snack before we hit the pavement for some good ol’ trick or treating.

Mummy Dogs  these are made with crescent roll dough. Each dough triangle is shredded and wrapped around a halved hot dog. And mustard for the eyes.

Mummy Juice boxes, are easy peasy.  Wrap with white electrical tape and add eyes.

You can recreate this Tombstone recipe dessert with a dark chocolate pudding, chocolate cookie crumbs topping, an embedded cookie and icing to write RIP.

Halloween Mart for your Costume needs

If you are anything like me, you have yet to buy Halloween Costumes.  And never mind for myself, I’m talking for the kiddos.  Luckily my two older kids only care about having a costume and aren’t as concerned with who they will be .   My husband and I want to do a family theme.  We’ve always wanted to and now with five of us it seems wrong not to do it once.

Halloween Mart has a super selection of costumes from kids Halloween Costumes to Adult Halloween Costumes. Perfect for us to get inspired and find exactly what we want all in one place.  The Halloween decorations are super awesome.  Almost makes me want to have a Halloween party!  When the kids are older I plan to have at least one.
