Technorati is a huge blog search engine! Anyone who owns a blog in the blogosphere needs to be listed in the Technorati Blog Directory.  If you want to be the “perezhilton” of your niche, you want your blog to be on every directory known and this is the cream of the crop in blog directories.

Here are the steps to get listed in the Technorati blog directory:

1. Claim your blog on Technorati.com by signing up
2. Go to your user id {click your name on right top } and claim your blog.
3. When completing the steps  make certain you put the keywords you will use most often these are what technorati “looks” for when pulling posts from your blog. This is the MOST important step.  Do not skimp on putting the correct keywords
4. After you complete the steps you may get a message that says due to back claims it may take some time.  Within 24 hrs I received an email with info to get a token. and complete the process of getting listed.
5. You will be given a token. Your token will be a series of letters with or without numbers.  Go to your last published post and edit it to enter the code on a line at the end of your post.  example if my token code is: sh6rdy  I would enter it at the bottom of my last published post (scroll to bottom to view how I entered it here for an example)
6. Enter your blogs feed link into .  Technorati will now crawl your feed to acknowledge your token code and verify you are the owner of your blog.
7. Within the next few days you should receive an email  that your blog has been claimed.  You should be able to see your blog in the directory in the next few days.
