I feel like a hamster on a wheel lately. My days and nights seem all scrunched together, after an eventful last few days I am in need of a decompression just from the constant running around. It’s been fun and I would do it all again, but I need a vacation from my weekend.
Here’s my Weekend Wrap Up
It all started smooth sailing and Thursday was a relaxing night at dinner. Luckily my in-laws have been gracious enough to keep the boys while we do something kid-less. Without fail, this past Thursday meant a few drinks with my man and dinner at our favorite spot. We haven’t always had official date nights, but started the trend in September. We both realized how much stress it was taking off of us to have a moment to ourselves, dinner without kids on our laps and real adult conversation.
For dessert hot chocolate cake, I dream about this cake. I have not found a recreation of this recipe, yet. It’s on my must make list.
After we wrapped up homeschool on Friday, I spent the late part of the day running around and preparing for Saturday, I had 5-ish DIY costumes to prepare and I love to wait until the last minute (I’m a procrastinator). The boys and I worked on Halloween paper bag crafts into the evening and I don’t think my head hit the pillow until after midnight.
Saturday Morning I was up and at ’em by 5 A.M. This is so not the norm for me, but I had my first TV appearance at 7 A.M. Excitingly enough Goodwill San Antonio and I collaborated on a Halloween Costume DIY workshop and we where there to promote the festivities that would take place later that day.
After the news segment, I went home to get the boys ready for a full day at the baseball fields with my husband. And it was workshop time for me. I joined Goodwill San Antonio for the last Halloween DIY workshop. Sharing how easy it is to pull together fabulous costumes using items right off the Goodwill racks. We also made those fun paper bag costume crafts. Special thanks to Whole Foods in the Vineyard for kindly donating paper bags to us to use for our crafts.
We had some amazingly creative kids, join us.
I then rushed off to catch my boys last baseball game of the day. And they WON!! Sunday was up and at ’em for an 8 am game. Luckily our boys pulled it off again winning the first game. They lost the second game by a hair.
We where so beat from the weekend, we headed straight home. Everyone napped, which is rare in my house. We capped off the night with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese for our little guys, who have been so patient running around with us all weekend and taking second seed to their big brother who our lives practically revolve around.
I’m tired just thinking about all that. So how was your weekend? As adventurous as mine.
