Weekly Cleaning Habits with Downy is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/P&G. #ProtectClothesYouLove
Do you have a favorite day of the week? For me that day is Friday’s. Obviously it’s the last day of the work week and the kick off to weekend, but on Friday’s I also spend doing my weekly cleaning. I made a quick trip to Walmart last night to stock up on a few of my favorite cleaning products and my favorite Downy Fabric Conditioner.
4 Weekly Cleaning Habits You Should Be Doing
Protect Your Laundry
Some of us do laundry daily. For my family of five, laundry must be done daily or it piles into oblivion. Aside from the daily laundry, I have a Friday schedule of stripping all the beds in the house with fresh sheets. I wash everything with one cap of Downy Fabric Conditioner. The fresh floral scent of Downy Fabric Conditioner is not only one of my favorite smells in my home. Downy Fabric Conditioner also protects fabric with a conditioner for laundry, leaving a soft and fresh feeling. There is less static, less wrinkles and less fuzz. There is nothing more satisfying than laundry day and that fresh floral scent that consumes our fresh sheets and clothes Just one cap in my wash and everything stays newer longer.
Get Rid Of Germs
We all clean our bathrooms, mop the floor, wipe down the countertops… But the most germy areas are where we forget to wipe. Grab disinfecting wipe and room by room wipe down door handles, light switches, faucets, remotes, drawer pulls, toilet handles, keyboards, gaming controllers and kitchen appliance handles.
Remove Unnecessary Dust and Allergens
Aside from the allergy prone times, there are plenty of dust allergens hiding in our home. Take a microfiber cloth and wipe down ceiling fan blades. Dust the AC vents, clean out the AC filters that capture all of that dust (your AC will also thank you by blowing colder) and vacuum curtains.
If you are anything like me and use your appliances daily, give them a day to clean. Run the dishwasher with vinegar and baking soda. Run the oven on the clean cycle and sanitize the microwave. Add baking soda and vinegar to your washing machine and run it empty for a cycle. Take your vacuum attachment and clean beyond the lint trap of your dryer.
