We have had quite the Summer already and the last few days were so action packed, this is my first chance to sit down and share anything with you so, this post comes to you a few days later than planned.

A new restaurant opened on Thursday in San Antonio.  Listen up all you San Antonio readers…

Zoës Kitchen is here, located in the Lincoln Heights shopping center.  The fresh and trendy looking restaurant is right up my alley.  From the brightly colored walls to the contemporary style chairs  Zoës Kitchen has a great ambiance.   This is a walk up and order style restaurant with self serve drinks and seat your self dining.

Zoës Kitchen is known for their fresh from scratch Mediterranean-inspired dishes.  With no microwaves or fryers this is the perfect smart eating restaurant for my family.  The menu offers an array of dishes, from sandwiches to Greek Chicken Marinara.  We decided on beef kabobs with a side of veggies, steak kabobs with rice pilaf and greek salad, shrimp kabobs with rice pilaf and greek salad and kids grilled chicken fingers with a cup of fruit.

{Don’t mind all the crazy faces my boys make.}

The food was a perfect mix of healthy and delicious. The biggest hits, The marinated beef kabobs, roasted potatoes, grilled shrimp, the rice pilaf and the greek salad (anything tossed with feta cheese is always a big hit with us).

Zoës Fresh Take

Zoës also carries fresh take tubs.  This is perfect for all you parents who want healthy comfort eating at home. Hummus, Seasonal Fruit Salad, Pasta Salad, Potato Salad, Chicken Salad or Marinated Slaw are available and ready to go.  The Fresh Take tubs come with recipes for easy meal prep.

With these busy summers, I was so excited to try out the fresh take tubs.  We literally have one hour in between day camp and baseball practice to recharge, eat and be at afternoon practice.  I turned to the  Zoës Fresh Take tubs to save the day.

Chicken salad, pasta salad and fruit tubs.  I took two grilled chicken pieces cut up and mixed it into warmed pasta salad.  Added the chicken salad to croissants, a side a fresh fruit and an oatmeal cookie for dessert.  This is the perfect summer lunch for my kids.  We have to stay away from heavy foods since they are on the go most of the day. I depend on energy rich foods to keep them going.

Try out Zoës Kitchen San Antonio.
