I have to let you in on a not so secret, secret. I don’t like working out! Like ever, I can and will resort to every excuse in the book to keep me away from exerting myself. You want to know what’s most disgusting about this… I have gym membership, that I pay for every single month. I refuse to cancel, because I love the idea of being healthy and fit. The idea just hasn’t transformed into much.
So now that I got that off my chest, I must say that I am not completely a couch potato. If it weren’t for my shopping excursions and having three boys, who knows what kind of physical shape I would be in. So knowing that I am constantly on the go, it got me wondering just how much moving and shaking I was doing everyday.
I have had my Misfit Shine for 4 weeks and it has turned me into an activity tracking fool. I wear the sport band day and night. To sleep, clean, shower, and whatever else I get into. It has virtually become a part of me.
Shine is an activity tracker that tracks your steps, activities (Swimming, Biking, Tennis, etc.), sleep and calories. It also serves as a clock and is waterproof. Wearing the shine device has given me a little more accountability to be concerned about how active I really am. I make more efforts to use stairs, take work breaks and walk. As I track my daily steps, I also know how many calories I have burned which encourages me to move more.
Shine is available at Best Buy in Silver, Black, Champagne and Topaz. It comes with a magnet clip which can virtually clip anywhere on you. Also available are leather bands, the sport band, and necklace. The device runs on a coin cell battery which lasts about 4 months, so there is no need to charge it.
Just sync shine to your iPhone or iPad by setting the device right onto the screen. Once synced it will show you your past accomplishments, how far you are from your daily goal and more.
It’s a sleek little gadget that is encouraging me to get active daily.
