I test drove the 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum AWD for a week. All thoughts expressed are my own.

One night when I was pregnant with my third child my husband said, maybe you are ready for a van. I laughed, he was serious. Then I cried because I was a hormonal, emotional, thirty-week pregnant wreck. Returning the double stroller sounded like a better idea than driving a minivan. I mean vans are exploding with some of the coolest options, but me driving a van full of kids, I wasn’t ready. Maybe it’s a psychological thing to be in mom mode 24/7 with no complete outlet.
You had me at Mid-Size SUV
I had driven a large SUV for a few years, but it always felt too big. I loved the convenience of a car and the ease of parking. This mid-size SUV won us over. The Toyota Highlander was everything we needed without the bulk.
13 Reasons To Love the 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited Platinum AWD
I am letting my girly side show a bit here, but I just love this rich maroon hue. It’s labeled Ooh La La Rouge, which makes me think those Toyota people have a cheeky side. I just want to pick up a latte and travel the world in this car.
Automatic High Beam Headlights
This vehicle is smart on so many levels, but this feature had me at automatic. Imagine driving in a rural area, where deer are abundant and cars are scarce. You have to drive 15 miles out of the city to get to my house. Which calls for less than optimal driving conditions at night. I also live in a night sky zone, meaning no street lights are allowed and outdoor lights must be a certain wattage. AHB detects nearby light sources such as the headlights or tail lights of vehicles ahead. The system automatically switches between high beams and low beams to ensure optimum nighttime visibility. This also helps vehicles detect pedestrians at night from further away.
Easy Access
Getting in and out of the Highlander is a breeze. The vehicle sits comfortably to allow adults and children to easily access in and out. The back seats are simple captain seats that allow to pass through to the third row or slide the seats up for ease of getting in the back.

Conversation Passenger Mirror
The overhead console has sunglasses storage and a conversation mirror that allows the driver to easily see everything going on in the car with a quick glance.
