Disclosure: I am part of the San Antonio Zoo Troop. I received complimentary tickets in exchange for this post.
It’s memory-making season at the San Antonio Zoo. This time of year is always extra special for me. The anticipation of the holidays and that long break from school, has me filling my calendar with ways we can squeeze in family time. San Antonio Zoo Lights is becoming a tradition for our family. As much as we love the San Antonio Zoo, the transformation of Zoo Lights brings to life a magical holiday experience.
The lion statues at the zoo entrance will forever be my kids favorite photo opp. There must be some magnetic force that pulls them in the moment we walk into the zoo grounds. Before I have a chance to pull my phone out, they are already grinning from ear to ear for a photo on the statue.

The San Antonio Zoo transforms into a wild, winter wonderland.
The Starry Safari features some of our favorite animals like the 15-foot tall illuminated giraffe, rhino and the hippos.

Stroll through the zoo with your hot cocoa and snow. Who doesn’t love a bubbly snow fest.

There are even stations to roast s’mores, decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus, and a Latin-inspired Lakeside Light Show! Featuring pixel technology combined with a custom soundtrack that is composed of Latin Music, this high-energy show will get guests dancing to their favorite Christmas tunes!
We met Santa Claus and even got to take our own free photos.
