The best position to sleep during pregnancy. Thanks to Rest-Rite for providing product in exchange for this post.
As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I made a conscious effort to start sleeping on my side. It seemed like every night I’d wake up in the most comfortable position, my back. Although it felt so comfy, it is not the safest position for me or my baby. I spent my nights flipping and flopping in all kinds of positions. As my belly grows, I have become more concerned with my sleep positions and the best position to sleep during pregnancy.

What is the best position to sleep during pregnancy?
Your left side is best! Practice lying and sleeping on your left side. Side sleeping on your left increases the blood and nutrients that transfer to the placenta.
Why should you avoid back sleeping?
First and foremost, don’t fret if you wake up on your back. It’s perfectly fine to spend some time on your back. Back sleeping as you further into your pregnancy will put pressure on your intestines, the aorta and can result in low blood pressure. You may also experience low circulation to you and the baby, back problems and shortness of breath.
The Best Position To Sleep During Pregnancy
To get comfortable and stay on your left side at night use the Rest-Rite sleep positioner. Rest-Rite is a plastic “cup” that gently attaches to your back or onto fitted clothing. As you shift during sleep, the Rest-Rite will remind you to roll back to your side. Rest-Rite Sleep Positioner is disposable and uses a medical grade adhesive so that it doesn’t shift during the night, making falling and staying asleep easier.
