Last Thursday I was invited to Tribeca San Antonio for dinner with a handful of my favorite San Antonio bloggers. Disclosure: Tribeca picked up our tab, but that has no rendering on this post and my thoughts on the restaurant are my own. Tribeca is centrally located in Olmos Park. It’s a farily new establishment opened by restaurateur Jean-François Poujol, who is no stranger to the San Antonio restaurant scene. He has had multiple successful restaurants in San Antonio and his newest creation Tribeca has set the way for a fantastic dining experience.
While I didn’t bring along my boys, Tribeca is not only a place for girls night, it’s also a family friendly restaurant for a quaint and cozy date night setting with a special spot for kids. I knew this before I arrived, so I was interested to see how anyone could pull off date night with kids in tow.
Tribeca is a very intimate setting with four separate areas. A large bar that opens up to the patio, an intimate dining area, the kids room and a lounge that is to die for. The lounge is a chic Moroccan inspired hot spot in the middle of Tribeca. Perfect for happy hour and dinner. I love all the wall seating, pillows and candles. Very chic and romantic.

You have the option of letting your kids hang out in the kids room while you have dinner in one of the restaurant dining areas or you can choose to have dinner with them. The kids room gives them their own special spot to hangout and have dinner, keeping them occupied while you enjoy dinner as well.
It was the perfect girls night, and I had the pleasure of seeing my SA blogger friends Michelle from Family Love in My City , Debi from SA Busy Kids, Debi’s fab daughter Twirl, Colleen from San Antonio Mom Blogs and Tori from The sTORIbook. (I’m not sure why I am so serious in the picture, chalk it up to not being camera ready.)

Dinner was fabulous. I was intrigued by the menu that ranged from Pork Belly Carbonara to a Grilled Flat Iron Steak . We started dinner with two appetizers the Crispy Lemon Butter Calamari with fresh pomodoro sauce.
And my absolute favorite the brussel sprouts with house-made pancetta, pecorino, rosemary vinaigrette and a poached farm egg. This is a must, I could have eaten the entire plate alone. The calamari was good but the brussel sprouts where AMAZING.
For the main course between us we ordered the Grilled Caesar organic hearts of romaine, foccacia croutons with roasted garlic, parmesan dressing and chicken. This is a warm grilled salad, it’s pretty amazing if you ask me. I am not sure how they kept the crispiness of the salad and grilled it, ibt it worked to perfection.
Seared Scallops, butternut squash risotto, sautéed spinach, lemon butter sauce. I am a scallops lover, if scallops are on the menu I always try them. These where seared just perfect.
The srimp & Grits, cheesy grits, spicy andouille trinity and broth was my dish of choice. I am a huge fan of spicy dishes packs punches of flavor and the shrimp dish did just that. The grits where a nice surprise and mellowed out the spicy flavors when I needed it.
You know where my next date night will be. I can not wait to take the family, the menu also has a pizza selection perfect for the boys and the drink menu sounds fabulous.
