Mi niñito and I headed to our local Walgreens to search for a new beauty routine. My first thought was how overwhelming can it get with the endless amount of products on the market. Tempting colors, pretty packaging and items that claim to enhance, thicken and hide? My search started with a handful of needs and wants.
For starters I want to amp up my routine with a teeth whitening system, hair color, lip gloss (red), mascara and a heat protector for my hair. A great Walgreens tip is to pick the brain of your Walgreen’s Beauty Advisor, they are a great resource when you need a helping hand.

1. Garnier Olia Oil Powered Permanent Color
What I love: there are no harsh smells during or after the coloring process. Olia Oil is 60% oil-based formula without ammonia. My hair had definitely has more luster and shine after the coloring process.
Cons: Use a good color boosting shampoo and conditioner to keep the color fresh longer.
2. Miracle Blur™ Instant Eye Smoother Treatment
What I love: The eye smoother has light-diffusing pigments which give the appearance of smoother skin under my eyes.
Cons: I want it to correct the crows feet I am beginning to see when I smile, will it only time will tell (I am on day 4).
3. Voluminous® Butterfly™ Mascara
What I love: the mascara doesn’t clump which I love and my outer ashes do look fuller and longer.
Cons: if you try to layer this on it does flake off a bit.
4. Extrodinaire by Colour Riche
What I love: it is silky, smooth deep color pigment is a great lip conditioner and perfect on my lips.
Cons: it is very glossy which may or may not be a bad thin, depending on your preference.
5. CURVE IT Curl Taming Cream
What I love: it’s also a heat protector and works perfectly right before my locks hit the curling iron. Smells great.
Cons: it dries fast so you can’t rub it through your hands a lot.
6. Colgate Optic White Toothbrush & Whitening Pen
What I love: The tooth brush works with your own toothpaste and remove surface stains and polish your teeth. The whitening pen gel is the second step that you swipe on your teeth. It’s hydrogen peroxide whitening gel that you leave on. There is no waiting or bad taste.
Cons: I do get a tingling.
7. & 8. Revlon Parfumeri Nail in China Flower and African Tea Rose
What I love: Once dry has a sweet smell that lasts all day. Have you seen American Hustle? Parfumeri reminded me of Rosalyn’s infatuation with her top coat that she claimed smells “LIKE FLOWERS, BUT WITH GARBAGE!” Parfumeri China Flower smells like Flowers for sure, with no garbage. It’s s great treat to have sweet smelling nails.
Cons: The scent doesn’t last an entire manicure. It fades off the second day or so.
9. NIVEA ® A Kiss of Care & Color Lip Balm
What I love: For all day moisture plus a subtle hint of color.
Cons: It’s not overly tinted and just barely shows up.
