You can take a trip down under at the new installation of Wild Australia at the San Antonio Zoo all summer long. Each summer the San Antonio Zoo brings us a new reason to visit the accredited 35-acre zoo. Last summer we had dinosaurs and the summer before that it was all about bugs. This year we are jumping into the Outback for a close-up encounter with Kangaroos and Koalas. Yes, those incredibly adorable little marsupials are here for the next few months. We spent the evening getting a first look at what this summer down under was all about.

Roo Walkabout at the San Antonio Zoo
Want to get up close and personal with the Red Kangaroos? Take a trip to the Tiny Spot located inside the Zoo and for $8 you can spend some quality time visiting, petting and photographing some of the San Antonio Zoos sweetest creatures. This experience is open daily from 10-5 daily.
When will you have this opportunity to get up close with a Kangaroo? This is an experience not to be missed and it will leave your family in awe of how friendly they are. We were impressed with how soft and relaxed the Kangaroos were to have strangers joining them.
Koalas join the San Antonio Zoo this summer.
Two sweet marsupials, Warrin and Burra have made their way from the San Diego Zoo to San Antonio. They sleep a lot as do all Koalas, so most likely you will catch them sleeping, but they are definitely worth visiting.
