Children's Advil #SickJustGotReal

Caring for a sick child with these tips and Pfizer over the counter products found at Target.

The Pfizer Pediatric Platform products, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. All thoughts and reviews are my own.

Don’t touch that! Don’t lick that! Get off the floor!  Where did you find that cheeto? Is this a boy thing, a kid thing, do all parents deal with this? I can’t seem to catch a break with my boys. We where on a good streak for three months where everyone was healthy and then bam! Out of nowhere  with a cold, stomach virus, hacking cough and then fevers… I am waving the white flag to you germs. Thank you for the never-ending days and nights of sick kiddos.

Caring for a Sick Child

What’s a parent to do when chest congestion strikes? It always seems to hit at the most inopportune time. I made a Target run and stocked up on my favorite Pfizer over the counter products and boy am I glad I did. You just can’t plan for a fever or cold in any other way than to be prepared.

Use Your Best Judgement

Only a doctor can diagnose your child. Your mom, sister, neighbor and I can only give advice on how to help your child get relief. If you feel your child needs to go to the doctor, trust your intuition. My sons pediatrician eased my mind years ago when she said if your child will not eat, drink, is acting lethargic, impossible to control for a period of time, or is having shortness of breath don’t question if you should visit

When Is A Fever Dangerous

Fevers are scary because we see our child suffering. When fever strikes remain calm, monitor the temperature with a thermometer and give your child Advil® Children’s Fever Reducer. A fever means the body is fighting off an infection. Fevers typically range from 101 – 103, if the fever goes over 104 that is considered high-grade.

  • Start with a dose of Advil® and monitor your child.
  • A cool washcloth on the forehead.
  • Have cool liquids available to keep child hydrated.
  • Lukewarm baths.
  • Using the steps above allow the fever to run its course over the next couple of days.  As always use your best judgement.

If the fever doesn’t go down, take necessary steps calling your doctor.

If the fever goes down, keep your child hydrated and comfortable.

Be Prepared With Pfizer OTC Products

Aches, Pains and Fever

Prepare for the inevitable with Advil. Children’s Advil® is perfect for kids as young as 2 and up to 11. With great-tasting flavors, including: Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors you can stop that fever and give your kiddo the rest they need. For little one’s keep Infants’ Advil® in White Grape flavor on hand. Infants’Advil® provides unsurpassed fever relief with a syringe for easy dosing for children 6-23 months.

Cough & Chest Congestion

We hate these symptoms, because there is not much my children will let me do to help relieve the scratchy-ness and mucus. I depend on Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night Pack to help them get the relief they deserve. The pack includes, non-drowsy Cough & Chest Congestion and  long-acting Nighttime Cough suppresant. The daytime formula helps break up chest congestion, while the long-acting nighttime formula relieves coughs and runny noses.

When the stuffy nose strikes Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough tackles a child’s most bothersome stuffy and runny noses, all while working to relieve cough.
