If you follow me on instagram, you may have caught my posts of me at the Macy’s Culinary Council event with Chef Cat Cora a few days ago. I was pretty excited that this event made it to San Antonio and I was able to attend. I am a huge fan of Chef Cat Cora, cooking shows like the Iron Chef are an obsession of mine, and well I LOVE FOOD. With the holidays literally around the corner, I have been looking for a few impressive dishes to add to my menus. This year we are hosting Thanksgiving at our house, so I really want to wow our guests and what better way than to get inspiration from an Iron Chef.

The Macy’s Culinary Council is an exclusive event held at Macy’s stores featuring recipes and tips from chefs.

Chef Cat Cora started the event by sharing her recipe for Crisped Root Vegetable Salad with White Balsamic Syrup. I’m not kidding y’all this was the most amazing fried vegetable dish I have ever had. The crunchy battered vegetables, on a bed of greens with the balsamic syrup, goes together magnificently.

I would have never thought to try a mustard sauce on pork. Chef Cat Cora paired a sweet-hot mustard perfect for glazing and dipping your pork. To say I was impressed, is an understatement. The slow roasted bourbon pork literally fell apart.

Rounding out the evening Chef Cat Cora capped off the evening with a fabulous take on the traditional pecan pie. VaLee’s White Chocolate Pecan Pie is a decadent and sweet slice of heaven.
