The Magik Theatre in San Antonio has always held a special place for us. My oldest son is 18 and we still both vividly remember his first trip to The Magik Theatre when he was just a teeny 3rd grader. It was both of our first time at the theatre. His class was there to watch a rendition of Junie B. Jones and I volunteered to chaperone. I sat behind the class and was in awe that 20+ eight and nine-year-olds could go from bouncing off their chairs with voices all echoing off the walls, to complete silence fully enthralled in the performance. Now I’m right back where I was years later and the same magical moments are happening with my younger children.

We have had many opportunities to experience Magik Theatre performances over the years and it was a very special treat when my kids were invited to experience last year’s mini camp. When I heard about Frozen Jr. being performed by the students of The Magik Performing Arts Academy, I knew we had to be in the audience. After all, we had already experienced a taste of what a day in the world of the education side was like and my kids had a little glimmer of what performing entailed. Experiencing the 12-week classes has been something my middle son had been showing interest in.

Also, Frozen is a big part of our lives right now. When you have an 11, 8 and 3-year-old at home, Frozen 2 merchandise at every turn, you tend to get caught up in Frozen fever. We found ourselves enchanted by the all-teen performance. To say I was blown away would be an understatement. They sang, danced, worked together and seamlessly pulled off a performance that had every single person in that auditorium on their feet.
