It’s back-to-school and children everywhere are headed back ready to soak up new knowledge. They say imagination and creativity foster confidence building and self expression, but unfortunately many children lack the school and art tools they need to express themselves creatively. Teachers come out of pocket all year to accommodate for the lack of supplies the school doesn’t provide and students don’t have. The Fiskars Shape Their Future SIMPLE Service Project is here to help. We can all lend a hand in turning classrooms into creative experiences and mold children into who they are tomorrow.
I was able to locate a local teacher, who has a kindergarten class full of little thinkers. A class full of children ready to sprout their creativity “outside the box”.
With a kindergarten class in mind and a kid inspired bird nest craft, I wanted to spark their imagination with a fun basket of goodies. I headed off to Walmart to purchase supplies to get a class of kinder students excited for a creative year.
On the shopping agenda was supplies to make their own birds nest. Fiskars craft scissors, glue, markers, crayons, feathers, googley eyes, construction paper, paper plates and pencil colors. Here is the donation bucket ready to go to the Kinder class.
The craft is simple but will tempt the imagination of little ones to become innovators. Taking a paper plate and turning it into the background for their own individual bird nest. Add some details like a googly eye, feathers, a beak and wings.
And this sweet project becomes a 3D pop art craft.
