When I say JOHNSON’S I’m sure you are thinking of all those great baby products. The trusted brand for babies has created “Baby Care Kits” to send to in need families world wide.
JOHNSON’S Baby Cares, Save the Children and new mom Hilary Duff want to make sure families experiencing difficulty, both in the U.S. and around the world, get the baby care resources they need.
I can’t imagine how scary it must be to not having basic necessities for your child. Along with thinking of my own time my child was in need, I wrote my middle child a letter about one of his in need moments.
Sweet Brody,
I never imagined how interesting life could get once you were born. Your older brother was not a dare devil, didn’t find it necessary to climb on things or jump off beds. The day you took your first steps, there was no stopping you. You also learned that stairs only required little effort and if you were extra quiet you could get to them without anyone knowing. You even learned that a safety gate can be climbed over just like your crib rails. Good times… I always commented ” be careful baby I don’t want to end up in the er”. We managed to elude many accidents from the day you were born until your third birthday. It was only a few short months ago that you decided to pull your self up onto a pub style table. Only before the table came forward on top of you. I only heard the “crash” but in a panic I ran to get you. Daddy and I checked you out and realized the knot on the side of your head was to big to care for at home. You weren’t bothered by your head but you cried because your arm hurt “too much”. You were able to move your fingers and wrist so we weren’t thinking anything was broken. Once at the er in total pain, the nurse gave you a pain killer and we actually got to see you peaceful.

You ended up with a broken humerus, 4 weeks of pain meds and Dr. visits. I always try to see the positive and know it could always be worse. We are thankful it wasn’t and your 11 month old baby brother wasn’t close enough to get hurt as well.
Love you Always,
Mom
We have been fortunate enough not to have the worry of basic necessities. But we do know that for some that is a reality. Lives are changed everyday and difficult times are a part of life.
