There are many things that I can do and quite a few things I can do well. I was at dinner a few weeks ago with new friends and was asked “what do I do”? My immediate response was “what don’t I do” . My husband is the bread winner. I am a stay at home mom! The response “your so lucky, I wish I could stay home” yada…yada.
I am so so lucky and can’t imagine the day my babies grow up and I (if I) decide to go back to working outside the home.
Don’t let the stay at home mom title fool you, though!
I only clock out if I get a babysitter!! Which is my in-laws for 4 hours on the weekend if we make the 1 hr drive to take the boys. We haven’t left them overnight with the 7 month old. Maybe when he turns one. I put in a good 164 + hours a week. No time off, no lunch break, little if any adult conversations… Like any mom my nights are not fully rested because with babies you usually sleep with one ear not mushed in a pillow and one eye half open. Projects at home almost never get done, I do almost everything with one hand, a 19 lb. baby on my hip and a 2 yr old threatening to spill something on our carpet daily.
