We are officially 2nd year homeschoolers. While our friends frantically checked off school supply lists and did all of their back-to-school shopping, I booked a hotel and planned a four day vacation. The perks of homeschooling meant we started school in July and celebrated the unofficial week of homeschool by packing up the family on Monday morning, beach bound. I have to tell you it felt like we were on a secluded beach. It was virtually a ghost town, the only kids we ran into was another family with toddlers.

We sat by the beach, built sand castles, played with hermit crabs, went fishing, ate seafood a lot, visited the aquarium.

We also had the entire dolphin tank to ourselves.

I think an after Labor Day beach vacation is going to be on my calendar for years to come.
We spent four days leaving our work and computers behind. So hard but completely worth it.
How do you disconnect from the world?
