Welcome Summer!

welcome summer

What I thought would be a weekend vegging in front of the television turned out to be a fantastic relaxing getaway.  Exactly two weeks ago I woke up with sharp piercing pain in my lower back.  I have dealt with this pain before and attributed it to a pinch nerve.  When I was pregnant with Dom I ended up in L&D where I was given a shot to ease the piercing pain that was radiating in my back and down my left leg.  I was told the baby was possibly pushing where he shouldn’t and the nerve pain was sciatica, one of the joys of pregnancy I guess.  After having Dom I still had these same pains every now and then, but truly I never really let them effect me.  Fast forward three years ago to last Tuesday where I found myself hunched over on the couch afraid to move.  I ended up going in for multiple appointments and begging for help from Dr’s.   After endless physical therapy and x-rays later.  The x-ray showed a fracture in my lower spine and a bone spur.  My Dr. also feels there might be more issues but an x-ray wouldn’t show that.  I have no clue how this even happened, and why it all of a sudden went to an unbearable state.  The fracture has to be an old injury, or attributed to when I was pregnant or had given birth.  Something we may never know.  So Dr’s orders have been to take it easy and only do what I felt comfortable doing until I got in to see a specialist and had an MRI done.

Friday morning my husband asked if we wanted to take a 24 hour trip to the coast to hang out with family and start summer off right.  I was up for it as long as we where relaxing.  Our 24 hour trip turned into a weekend getaway and no one wanted to return to reality.

Welcome Summer!

We enjoyed all of the rights of passage that are summer.
