A Road Trip To Visit The Woodlands, Texas #VisitTheWoodlands

Lighting of the Doves The Woodlands Texas

Special thanks to Visit The Woodlands and The Westin At The Woodlands for hosting my family for the weekend. This post is sponsored, but all opinions are my own.

I love traditions, the holidays and making meaningful memories with my family. I look back at my own childhood and am extremely fortunate that my parents made the holiday season so special for us. Having 4 kids of my own, I want them to stay as close knit as we did. So we immerse them in a childhood full of adventure and travels. They love surprises, so last Friday I was able to surprise them with a weekend trip to The Woodlands, Texas

Take a peek at my instagram stories of our adventures.

We stayed at the luxurious Westin at The Woodlands hotel. The hotel graciously accommodated my tribe. The Westin at the Woodlands is perfectly nestled along waterway square right in the heart of the best shopping, restaurants and fun The Woodlands has to offer. I love that the hotel is so glamorous, while still being kid friendly.

The Westin at the Woodlands hotelThe Current restaurant in the Westin had everything we needed to get our day started. The glass windows along Waterway square are perfect for people watching and my kids loved seeing the fountain take on astronomical heights while feasting on their malted Belgian waffles.

Just steps outside of the hotel is the beautiful Waterway Square. We spent our first afternoon there, eating at Grimaldi’s, shopping at the Woodlands mall (just two blocks away) and splashing through the splash pad.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum is a short 8 minute drive from the Westin hotel and the perfect way to get out of the Texas heat for a few hours and enjoy plenty of hands on activities.

My boys (8 and 6) absolutely love puppets and loved putting on a puppet show for their little sister. Miesha loved filling her cart with groceries, it took nothing short of a miracle to pull her away. The Woodlands Children’s Museum was perfect for my kids to enjoy interactive play and stay entertained for hours.

While in town we were able to enjoy The Woodlands 35th annual Lighting of the Doves event. The Lighting Of The Doves festival takes place in Town Green Park just a short walk from The Westin At The Woodlands. It was a beautiful 77° on Saturday afternoon so we took advantage of the weather and had a chance to enjoy a walk along the waterway. This area is by far my favorite part of The Woodlands, we just loved the beautiful landscape.

The Lighting of the Doves festival is packed with activities and entertainment. The park is lined with community vendors who had games and activities to entertain the kids, from free face painting, balloon animals to Christmas tree crafts there were activities to entertain everyone.

For  the kids there was also unlimited fun to be had on slides, activity courses and snow play areas.

The Woodlands Children’s Museum had a huge craft zone. My boys could have stayed there all day making slime and crafting with the volunteers.

The stages provided endless entertainment and a place to mingle with friends and family.
