I am constantly giving my own parenting advice here. But my other half is also a huge influence and teacher when it comes to parenting our boys. We have completely different parenting styles, but we do share the same goals. Raising well rounded children! We want them to be smart, hard workers, dedicated and believers in themselves. When it comes to the dynamics, I usually stress for the both of us. My husband is a little more lax with them and I overreact almost always (it’s my over-protectiveness).
So how does my husband handles situations sans mom? I asked him a few questions to see how he makes it through without me.
A T Diva: What are your must haves when you are watching the baby?
Mr. ATD: Enough milk, diapers, and wipes to make it through the day. My cell phone to call you, just in case.
A T Diva: How do you clean up an after dinner mess?
Mr. ATD: Paper towels and wipes.
A T Diva: How do you calm a cranky baby?
Mr. ATD: Pick him up and carry him until he stops or you get home.
A T Diva: What advice would you give to a new father?
Mr. ATD: Don’t feel overwhelmed. A lot of parenting is trying new things and doing what works for your individual baby.
A T Diva: What do you do if the boys are stressing you out and I’m not home?
Mr. ATD: Change the scenery. Take them outside and go for a walk. Or put them in the bath.
A T Diva: What do you love about being a dad?
Mr. ATD: Teaching them about life. I know everything they are learning is coming from what I teach them and the examples I lead.
