Finding the silver lining

He is risen

You’ve got to do you! I have to remind myself that nothing else really matters and we just have to do what feels right. It was a weird week for us and I have literally been waiting for the other shoe to drop. It started with a bombshell family situation. Then another family situation completely unrelated, that I somehow got drug into. Blah… at my age I feel like I just needed a time out from it all. I have been known to fly off the handle and jump to conclusions. I hate that about me, but I also feel like I don’t want to hold a grudge. I made the choice to not hold my thoughts back, say my piece and move on. No grudges, no arguments, no apologies. I was so consumed with emotion that night, but the next day it was a sense of relief and I felt better for not letting it all boil over.

That evening we hit a deer! Seriously when did our luck run out?!

If you personally know me, you may be thinking I can’t believe it didn’t happen sooner. We live in a deer infested area, I mean the deer are everywhere, my kids could step out the door and feed the darn things right now. As luck would have it we were driving down the highway going about 65 MPH and a deer shot out and ran right into the passengers side. Aiden was sitting in the passenger seat and I was sitting behind him. There was no dramatic accident, Thank God! Luckily my husband doesn’t panic and he hit the dang thing, drove to a safe spot and we checked the damage. All six of us were in the car and it was crazy to see the actual damage.

My vehicle is now in the shop and I’m hoping it doesn’t take the estimated three weeks. If things couldn’t get any worse Aiden got sick. Poor kiddo he’s been glued to the couch and can’t seem to get his appetite back yet. Our week is going great right?!

I’ve always wanted to take the kids on personal dates. Just one parent, one kid for a fun outing. But it is so hard to leave the baby and having two boys close in age is tricky. You really can’t separate them, because one is bound to get jealous. Finally my hubby had a chance to sneak off with one of the boys for their first dad and son date. He and Brody snuck off to the Spurs game last night. I had to tell Dom that they were going to run errands, so that he wouldn’t ask to tag along. Needless to say he asked why they were taking so long about a hundred times.

Easter was very low key, well as low key as Easter can be with four kids. Sadly I didn’t even get all the kiddos in an easter picture, so we will have to have a redo when Aiden is feeling up to it.

Our week really wasn’t that bad and yes it could have been worse. I am always looking for the silver lining. I have my husband, kids and our sanity. Can’t ask for much more than that.
