The Printable Kitchen Inventory List and Weekly Meal Planning Will Save You Money

How to meal plan and organize your kitchen with printable inventory lists

I’m claiming back my kitchen with a few easy hacks to stop over buying at the grocery store. How many times have you gotten home from the grocery store and start putting away items that you already have? I love being prepared and fully stocked, but unless I’m prepping for some major event there is no need to have 8 cans of green beans. Last week I shared how I am simplifying my every day with a life planner and this weekend’s agenda was to do a complete overhaul of my pantry and fridge. I purged my refrigerator and pantry of expired items and made a printable kitchen inventory list. I incorporated this list that would help me get organized and help us use up all of our groceries I have already purchased so that I can cut my grocery bill this week.

The list is broken up into ten categories:

  • Canned/Jarred goods
  • Dry Foods
  • Meats/Seafood
  • Refridgerator
  • Condiments
  • Produce
  • Dairy/Cheese
  • Freezer
  • Baking Goods
  • Beverages

Once I’ve completed an inventory of my kitchen pantry and refrigerator, it’s time to start planning meals for the week. I start by piecing together meals with items on my inventory list. My weekly meal planning printable helps me fill in the week with meals that will easily fit into our day. The meal planning printable has enough room to fit in one meal or three meals a day. Since we homeschool and work from home, I need to plan out all of those meals. I also have to have a lot of snack ideas handy. Now that I have completely purged my kitchen, we are pretty low on what we have on hand. The two printables allow me to cut my grocery bill down and utilize items I already have in my kitchen.

How are you cutting your grocery bill this week? I am always looking for ways to simplify my life and be more intentional with my time. Meal prepping and keeping a rolling inventory of what we have on hand is a great way to keep your kitchen organized and avoid food hiding out in your pantry and freezer.

  1. Why is this EXACTLY the kind of thing I need? I grew up in a house where the fridge was always filled with food but living abroad and it being only me a lot of food just stays in my freezer and pantry forever! Thanks for this!

  2. We only have a tiny fridge with a tiny freezer box so we just tend to buy things as we need them. Luckily, this means we rarely waste anything, but at the same time I think it would be nice not to have to walk to the grocery store every single day!!

  3. This a great idea of checking what you have in stock first before heading off to the grocery. Saves money and avoids wastage.
