What’s for dinner tonight at your house? I have a good hour to pull something together before dinner each evening. Our busy days don’t allow me much time to prepare for dinner. Now that it is fall, we are in a good rhythm of school, off to practices and short on time for meal prep. I have vowed that fast food would be very few and far between, but now it is my job to make sure we have a great meal for our family of five.
Kraft Recipe Makers has made quick family meals, delish. I can literally throw together a meal in the morning and have it ready to serve in the evening. So sure, I could come up with my own ingredients and skip the Recipe Makers but to get the flavors of a hearty zesty gravy on my own is virtually impossible.
My family loves meat and potatoes, so the New England Pot Roast by Kraft Recipe Makers was a recipe I knew we had to add into our meal plan. Simply purchase the meat and vegetables called for on the back of the box and you have yourself a ready to cook meal. I went with petite carrots, onion and two large potatoes for of vegetables.
Place your roast in the slow cooker,
along with chopped up vegetables.
Place the included simmer sauce over everything.
Put you slow cooker on low and forget about it for the day.
Eight hours later you will have tender roast and veggies.
Then comes the last step, a finishing sauce.
Pour the finishing sauce over everything, place the slow cooker on high, and cover for 15 minutes.
Once the fifteen minutes is up I mixed it around and served. My boys gobbled this meal (veggies and all) up. The New England seasoning gave it a great zesty flavor, which we loved. The roast literally fell apart and went perfectly with the vegetables.
