Remember the day baby was born app and my sons birth story #thedaybabywasborn

The one thing I regret most with all three children is documenting every detail of their birth story.  And when I say detail, I mean from the moment the journey of carrying them started.  The whirlwind of emotions, reactions from friends and family, pics of my growing belly, the hospital ride, and beyond.  I wish I could remember it all. Tommee Tippee has a great FREE web app The Day Baby Was Born™  that will help you capture every moment. Thanks to this great web app I was able to get past the mommy brain and remember most of my 6 month old’s birth story.

When I went into labor with my third boy Domi, I was 37 weeks to the day pregnant.  I had gone to bed the night before with contractions that where all over the place and didn’t hurt at all.  I drank a bunch of water and fell asleep on my left side.  I was told they would subside if I drank plenty of water and lye on my left?!   I woke up at 5am with 6 min apart contractions and decided to prepare for a hospital visit.  I was more than sure they would send me home if I made the 20 minute drive, but I packed and showered either way.  At 7 am I woke my husband, 10 and 2 year old.  They were excited it “was time”, I prepared them that if I wasn’t far enough along the nurses may send us back home.  We reached the hospital at 8am and my husband took the boys to get breakfast while I settled into a room and got hooked up to the monitors.  The nurses checked me and determined I was only at a 2cm.   After a call to my dr. I was pleasantly surprised that the nurses asked me if I would like to have my water broken.  It was like telling me it was the night before Christmas and I could start opening presents.

My husband returned and within the hour my contractions where 3 minutes apart and I was progressing.   By  noon I had asked for an epidural and had my parents and in-laws anxiously awaiting.  I actually napped and felt more relaxed by 1pm.  When my dr. graced me with his presence and told me, I would begin pushing within the hour.  It wasn’t 45 minutes later that the process of pushing had started.  I will not go into detail, but I will say it took over an hour of painless pushing.  I actually took pics of my hubby and dr. in between contractions.  I guess the epidural will do that to you 🙂

My sweet Domi was born at exactly 3:16pm.  A full head of hair and weighed a whopping 8lbs. even.  Could you imagine if I was pregnant up until my due date.  It turns out this chunky monkey was bigger than expected and his wide shoulders made it hard for him to escape.  My other two where 6lbs 2ounces or 6lbs. 4ounces.

I encourage you to make your memories and capture them on the FREE app The Day Baby Was Born™  by Tommee Tippee.  And share your journey or just have a keepsake that is irreplaceable.
