Game Day Salad

When it comes to game day the food is the focus of our parties. Whether we have one friend over or a house full of friends, we want to cater to everyone. As we prep for game day this year, I can’t help but want to make it as healthy and fabulous as possible. This year’s resolutions put today’s game day meal into overdrive. As you know we’ve cut out foods that just don’t provide anything for us, we want to indulge in the delicious rich flavors we love and skip out on the things we don’t.

Game Day Ready with Tyson

Today I did my weekly run to Walmart with my shopping list in hand that included Tyson® Crispy Chicken Strips, Wright® Brand Bacon and Hillshire Farm® Lit’l Smokies® Smoked Sausages. Three essentials that are perfect on their own and when complimented in a meal, kick it up a notch.

As I plan for an intimate group of friends over for game day, I decided to make a fresh crispy chicken strip salad with fresh bacon and vegetables. Hillshire Farm® Lit’l Smokies® Smoked Sausages in brown sugar and easy to eat snacks.

Crispy Chicken & Applewood Bacon Salad

For the salad I kept it simple with mixed romaine lettuce, tomatoes, hard-boiled egg, cheese, cucumbers, ham chunks, Wright Brand bacon and Tyson crispy chicken strips cut into bite size pieces.

A delicious light dressing of equal parts lemon juice, olive oil and grated parmesan cheese. Add in 1 tablespoon honey and salt and pepper to taste. Mix vigorously and serve over salad.

Hillshire Farm® Lit’l Smokies

For the Hillshire Farm® Lit’l Smokies Smoked Sausages in a large skillet I used a tablespoon of the leftover bacon grease and mixed in 1 tablespoon brown sugar. Placed the Smoked Sausages in the skillet on medium-high heat until warmed all the way through.
