The Cortez family restaurants expanded outside of the downtown area with Mi Familia at the RIM For many of us native San Antonians the Market Square has most likely been the host of many family celebrations. Birthday dinners, anniversaries, graduation parties, Fiesta, if there is something to celebrate the market square has most likely given way to some of those meetups. I’ve enjoyed countless dinners at La Margarita and Mi Tierra all my life. The ambiance, culture and delicious food are like no other in San Antonio. It is only fitting to watch the Cortez family expand their restaurant empire with a fifth restaurant outside of the downtown area.

I was invited to a media night to explore the new Mexican restaurant that pays homage to the original Cortez family restaurants. The new location is bursting in culture and rich Cortez family history. The main seating area has the decor found at Mi Tierra. The strung lights, gold papel picado ceilings, Christmas trees covered in the decor of mini piñatas. A stroll through the restaurant walls photo display pays tribute to the family.
The famous Mariachi Bar and Panadería will take you right to your memory bank of those fond memories in Mi Tierra.
You will find the same amazing menu options as the other restaurants with a few elevated plates, name changes, and family-style options.
Don’t miss out on this new restaurant on the far North West side of San Antonio. The food, drinks, and flare is amazing.
